Coaching Techniques for Managers!

As a coach a manager will be handing out suggestions to make improvements in specific areas. These areas will have to be identified by you. It is not a process which can take place in a day or two. It is a long term process. It cannot be a one way street. You have to develop a relationship with your co worker. To suggest improvements you will be analyzing the work performances. Your suggestions will include ways to improve this performance. Leadership is essential in these issues. Be supportive of your co  workers as well as help them by instructing them, guiding them and encouraging them.

All management training programs and management training courses specify that communication skills are one of the most important skills a manager can possess. This is one of the most important techniques used in coaching. You have to clearly tell your team members what your expectations are. Do not let there be ambiguity. Clear any ambiguity on the spot. Repeat yourself if necessary to get the message across. Do not leave any room for doubts. Clear them up.

Coaching is all about building relationships with clients. Do the same with your team members. If you feel there are certain areas where improvements can be, then go ahead and tell them. But, do so in a manner that does not seem to find fault, rather suggest the improvements as a way to enhance their performance. Fault finding is easy, encouraging someone to do better is not. Platitudes can be mouthed by anyone but only a genuine leader can give the correct kind of emotional support. You should only offer emotional support and should not yourself become the support.

If there are obstructions on the path to their advancement it is your duty to help remove them. After all you are also their manager and not just their coach. You can advice them on ways to remove these obstructions. Your guidance is necessary for them. Be gentle when you are advising them. Do not be harsh.

If you have attended management training classes then you would have had a session on leadership. A good leader knows the importance of Action speaks louder than words. If you want your team members to work to reach their goal, then you have to show them the way. Not by telling them how to do it but by showing how to do it. Tell them which part of their behavior or performance should be changed to show better results. Tell them how to do it.

All this advice that you have given is going to be useless if the team member is not committed to make those changes. It is your duty to ensure that the person or people are committed to making these changes. Explain to them the reasons that it is necessary for them to make this change. Tell them the benefits, if they make the change.

All management training programs or management training courses say that unless you appreciate people they are not going to be motivated to work better. So, this is another technique that a coach needs to do. So do not hesitate to appreciate the good performance and as a manager it is a good idea to reward the performance. This can do wonders for you and your team

Deciding on which dentist to use can be a very difficult decision. There are so many and it is hard to tell which ones are good. There is a dentist in my area that has been doing dental work for ever 20 years and that is one way I know that he is a good dentist. You want to find a dentist with plenty of experience. Now days, because there are so many dentists, many dentist will try and specialize in only a few kinds of treatments. This only makes it harder for those seeking dental assistance to find the right dentist.

When I’m trying to find a dentist in my area that will meet my needs, I always consider the following things:

1. Where is this dentist’s office located? If the office is far away or has limited parking, then this is something that might prevent me from visiting him or her as often as I should. Also, some offices can be located in areas that you might not feel completely safe at. You should always consider where you have to go to see your dentist when selecting one.

2. How professional is the dentist and his or her staff? Locating a dentist in my area that stands out above the others sometimes comes down to their mannerisms toward me. It is always important to feel comfortable and professionally welcomed at the dentist’s office. Part of this includes how much they show that they respect your time.

3. Like I mentioned before, you want to find a dentist that is most comprehensive in the procedures that they will do. Some dentists will only do certain ones. The dentist in my area that I see does most of the basic procedures. This is a very important aspect to consider and you should ask the dentist which one’s he or she will do.

4. Find out what kinds of anesthesia’s the dentists use. Some dentists will only use sedation dentistry and you want a dentist that can offer you a whole spectrum of choices so you can select the one that will make you the most comfortable during those painful visits.

5. Lastly, you need to find out what kinds of billing services the dental office offers. Your dental office should be flexible with your billing needs. They should make it convenient for you for every visit. The dentist in my area simply sends me a bill in the mail, and I find that very convenient. In addition, make sure that your dental insurance plan covers the services of that office.

These five steps are among the many criteria that should be used when selecting a dentist. In addition to using these steps, you can also ask your friends or family members for referrals to their dentists. You can also contact a university with that has an on-site clinic. They can refer you to a competent dentist. When finding a dentist in my area that could meet my needs, I asked my family members who they liked and why. This helped me select a good dentist.

What are the situations and circumstances most likely to cause stress in your life? Are you at risk from any of these? Here are the most common causes,

Work

According to a recent survey, 40% of workers described their jobs as very stressful. Because we all spend so much time at work, job-related stress can be very harmful.

You need to identify the circumstances at work that cause you the most stress and take action. You may say that’s obvious, but many people make like an ‘ostrich’, trying hard to ignore the problem, because they don’t want to face up to the consequences.

Pregnancy and sex is an emotive subject that can also cause much stress. Pregnant mothers worry about their unborn babies and spouses worry about many issues from performance in bed to infidelity and infertility.

If you suffer from these causes you will benefit by sweeping aside taboos and fears, talking openly about your problems to partner or spouse.

Yoga or other forms of bodywork, such as massage can be very effective here, especially for mothers-to-be.

Study and learning

Study and learning can cause much distress, weather it’s professional exams and qualifications or college studies. Often the problem is time-management. There just are not enough hours in the day.

Being a student can be a difficult period for many of us but there is much you can do to counteract the stressful effects of studying and exams.

Plan ahead, especially when there is an exam at the end. Allow more time than you think you need. Create a quiet space for studying where you are not disturbed. Schedule your study time and don’t allow it to be hijacked.

Health problems

Health problems can cause considerable stress and vice versa. A vicious cycle can be created. Which comes first? Or, more importantly what can you do to break the cycle?

So what illnesses and health problems are linked to stress?

Stress can affect heart disease and strokes, immune disorders, gastrointestinal problems, eating disorders and diabetes. It can cause tension, pain and insomnia, headaches, migraines and sexual dysfunction. It can also impair memory and concentration.

Unhealthy lifestyles are the modern stressors. Drinking, smoking, drugs junk food and vegetating in front of the TV, all contribute to stress much more than you may realise.

Our bodies and minds are like machines. They need to be used to regularly in order to function in peak condition. We need to feed them with the correct nutrients, exercise them properly and not abuse them.

Understanding what causes you stress will help you greatly to take back control of your life. Start learning about stress and seek out solutions that strike a chord with you.

And it doesn’t have to be medications or pills. There are many effective techniques and strategies that are completely natural and kind to you and your health.
